I've had a couple little bugs that I just can't work out. Please help if you can. I have a Compaq Presario 1500 with 512 mb ram and a 60 gig hard drive. It came stock with XP Home, but I loaded Windows XP Pro on top of that (to maintain certain drivers that they don't allow for download on the web site). Problems: 1. Sometimes, I get the "blue screen of death". When windows recovers, it says that it is having a problem resulting from a driver, but it can pin-point the driver. Any one else ever had this problem and been able to solve it? 2. I have a synapsis touch pad on this machine. With the newest version of the driver, it diables my quick access buttons. I'd like to get the buttons back. Any ideas? Please help if you can. Cool PC otherwise.

Sometimes when you perform an upgrade you get weird things that just can't be fixed because they've been carried over from the previous OS. What you'll want to do is see if you can find drivers for your computer from the manufacturer of the components and not just Compaq. For instance, if you have a Synaptics touchpad, go to the www.synaptics.com website and locate the XP driver for your model. Also, try looking through the Event Viewer log files to see if any errors are being reported. It's kind of hard to help with the generic Blue screen error without any additional info...
