Do you have a firewall on your system which may be blocking the access? Also, check 2 make sure u don't have cookies disabled which would keep hotmail from working. u may want to clean out the cookies and temp files if u have a bunch of those. If all else fails u can uninstall and reinstall explorer which is fairly harmless with xp. You may also want to reinstall your virus software and do a full scan if it's not working.
