To search for a file, click start, and click search" when u hit OK, another message comes .."Could not load or run ...then the 5 tiny boxes....specified in registry..Make sure the file exists on your computer or resource the refererence to it in the registry" I have no clue what to do, when i went to registry i see nothing looking like the above...This comes on two times every time i start up..how do i stop it?? TY!

Sweet Image, Go to Start/Run, type in MSCONFIG and click OK. Look under the Startup tab and if you see that 5 tiny box entry uncheck it and restart your computer. As far as the registry it may be located at one of the keys shown below.

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices
HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServicesOnce
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

Also it's possible that it's in the Windows StartUp folder.

The link below may be of some help.

Try System Restore to the date that is before the installation.

Using System Restore too many times can cause
more harm than good. After doing a restore
that does not fix a problem, then UNDO the
Restoration, and try another restore point, or
just do the UNDO.

oook!! i did the Msconfig thing...and restarted WIndows...NOW i am in deeper trouble...when it comes back on, i get this message: " You have used System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way Windows Starts--Currently you are in the Diagnostic or Selective Startup mode, causing this message to be displayed and utility to run every time WIndows starts. Choose normal startup mode on General tabs to start windows normally, and undo changes you made using System Configuration Utility"...Actually, the 'changes' i made did not stop the messages from coming on anyway...AND, now i also get this message: "Error loading C:Program File\Acceleration SOftware\Anti-VIrus\SSTS mon.dll Specified module could not be found.." I have no CLUE why that is starting now, i ONLY touched the two lines with the little boxes mentioned in my first message...Now what do i do?? Oh i DID try system restore first...but it will NOT restore for me, to any date i choose...I have no clue why...

Sweet Image, That message: " You have used System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way Windows Starts--Currently you are in the Diagnostic or Selective Startup mode, causing this message to be displayed and utility to run every time WIndows starts" is normal whenever you make any changes and is nothing to worry about. Go back in MSCONFIG again and put checkmarks back in the items you unchecked and if that message comes up again just checkmark the small "do not show me this again etc. box". As far as that new message "Error loading C:Program File\Acceleration SOftware\Anti-VIrus\SSTS mon.dll Specified module could not be found.." I can't yet find anything on that but try the above and see if it still comes up.

you need to look in the following registry key:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Windows

there are two string values, one called "load" and the other called "run" that you need to delete. I had the same problem, tried editing the value of the strings to leave them blank, and it didn't quite work. i had to delete them and then recreate them. to delete them, just right click and select delete. to recreate them, on the left pane showing the registry tree, right click on the windows key where those strings live, and select New -> string value. call it load, and then make another, called run.

that should help.
