Recently one of my friends updated my [D:] Drive by installing a Nero7 DVD-rom, 2 weeks ago.

The installation went great until this week where all the sudden I couldn't play one of my video games anymore. The video game I was playing is a PC DVD-ROM based game. I can still play dvd's on here but it will not play my video game. I'll put the game in and the main box will show up asking if I want to play it or not. I click yes but nothing happens.

What is causing this?

Check whether your dvd does not work in your system only or in other systems as well?

Also try playing other dvds in your rom.

Nero 7 is burning software. Are you saying you friend installed software or physically installed a new DVD drive? And if it's a DVD-ROM rather than a DVD-RW (burner), there's really no need to install Nero 7. If it is a new drive, is it ATA/IDE or SATA? If it's ATA/IDE, was it installed on the primary or 2ndary channel?

Also, you didn't list your system specs or the game you're trying to play. Are you sure your system meets at least the minmum requirements?

You need to clarify a few things.

It seems that dvd rom is not detecting your dvd... if it works on the other dvd roms then you need to chane the settings in the dvd rom or you need to change the dvd rom to the rom that can play this kind of games.
