I thing that my CD with drivers is bed - when I want to install those drivers there is an ERROR - blue screen, and there is something about Bios - I don't know what there is write, because computer reboots automatic after 1 sec. After reboot I tried to install it again. There is not problem, but when I make new connection, and I try to connect with Internet, I can't - There is only: Error with modem or other communication device. PLEASE HELP ME.
I tried w2k drivers too.

I installed windows xp, but my modem coudn`t work on that windows because I have not driver. Can you help me?

At the earliest dump the SM56 I had one.Just disable it as its on the motherboard. It,s a software modem and uses up a lot of the proccessor and it,s had lots of problems. I know I visited lots of forum,s and found out.I managed to get the new driver of the net.
I bought a new hardware ( it uses its own device on board ) modem for only £25 ( Modular pci modem) a doddle to install runs like a dream doesn,t keep droping the line like the SM56 and I connect at higher speeds.
Hope this helps.PS. If you want details of modular email me at bazbon@hotmail.com. The box is in the loft at present!

most motorola sm56 modem are work fine with win xp, I think you did not install the right driver, try to reinstall it again, if still don't work just go buy another one, it only cost 17.00 dollars.
