When I use KaZaA or Grokster on Windows XP Professional, I find that these programs cause explorer.exe and iexplore.exe to crash whenever I type anything into the address bars or use a keyboard shortcut. What causes this and how do I fix it? Does anyone know?

Kazaa, Gator, OfferCompanion and Savenow are well worth avoiding because they have been known to cause system instability. If you want to use a P2P app the best way to keep your system clean is to pay for a pro version such as LimeWire which is ad free and not expensive. My best advice is to install Ad-Aware and clear your system of all ad supported versions and then go for LimeWire.

I am a big fan of LimeWire, but not enough to pay for it, no matter how cheap it is. I actually do get the same problems as stated above with the ad-supported version of LimeWire, which leads me to conclude the adware is the root of the problem. Has anyone actually used Ad-Aware to fix the problems I am having?

By the way, both WinMX and BearShare work great. Too bad CuteMX and the original Scour Exchange are not around anymore...those were the best.

The first time I used Ad-Aware it cleaned out 8 suspect entries from the registry and I have had no problems since.

I have just recently installed grokster and every time I try to open it I get a message that there is a problem and grokster has to close. So I uninstalled it reinstalled it with and without ad aware. Any suggestion
