I'm getting system log DCOM/10010 errors, and
application log Userenv/1524 errors, and
a dialog box discussing saving of data at logout
when hpcmpmgr.exe is included in the startup.

This ia friend's system, not sure how
got to this state.

Disabling DCOM would be appropriate for this non-networked machine.

However, hpcmpmgr.exe is part of the HKLM services - what is it trying to do?

I too have a problem with HPCMPMGR.exe What is HKLM service and how do I get rid of this?

My problem is with shut-down, it holds up the process as it is not ending its task. What ever ITS task is... I want it off of here! I have an HP printer and scanner but this is something new in the last two weeks.

Anyone?

I am having this same problem. All printers are working ok. I noticed a utilizy on HP's site for disabling the HP Component Manager . Is this a good thing to do or do I need to have the HP Component Manager enabled to do anything worthwhile? Appreciate any info you can provide. Thanks.
