I'm posting this again, because my previous thread was buried, and my problem was not solved.:
----
I've been having a serious problem with Windows Explorer. For some reason it doesn't like thumbnails, when i open a folder with videos etc.. it crashes. I tried fooling with folder options, but it crashes when it tries to generate a preview. I've also noticed that Explorer.exe uses up quite a bit of memory as well.
I installed SP2 a few days ago, but I didn't notice this problem until today. The last thing I did was run viruscan last night, and I had a few javascript viruses. But that's it. So I do not know what the problem is. I've tried everything I can think of. I can't browse my folders with video files, without explorer crashing, and I can't change the view settings to list view before it crashes.
Can someone please help me?
----
I've tried all the possible solutions suggested in my previous thread, and some of my own, but to no avail. However, explorer no longer takes up the amount of memory it did previously.

:I have no browser hijackers, or spyware.
:I've run anti-spyware/hijacker programs many times
:I've tried system restore

Please help.

Out of curiosity...In Task Manager, have you ended explorer exe. and restarted it by typing it in as a new task under the file button?

Always been one to ask questions.
