I was given a new computer recently with Windows XP installed.It came with the Product Activation Key on the back of the computer.I failed to activate it when I first got it and am having problems.I went so far as to agree to the EULA and then was distracted.I thought the registration would be there after I shut the computer down and restarted.I can find it nowhere now and am having problems with my other programs.Is there any web site I can activate my computeer online.
Any help would be greatly appreciate.

No,

You have to call MS or bring it back to where you got it and have the builder call them.

Are you sure its an activation problem?

If you haven't activated you will be getting constant pop-up reminding you to do so. If your 30 days activation period has expired you just wouldn't get into Windows to run any applications.

Normally the only times you will be asked to verify the EULA is when installing windows or running an OEM configured computer for the first time.

To check for activation goto the Run menu and enter the following command:

C:\Windows\system32\oobe\msoobe.exe /A

You will be told if it is activated. If not it will attempt to activate via the Internet.

Stuart S;
I did what you said and I got a message that basically said the following.This refers to a location that is unavailable.I have been getting no popups,but cannot print
or get any sound.I have a popup blocker but I don't think it would affect this type of message.

you need to adjust "C:\Windows\system32" to point to where ever you have the Windows System folder. It is usually C:\Windows\ but can be different.

The lack of sound or printing would indicate a driver problem. Look in Device Manager and see if there are any yellow marks next to sound and printer. You may need to re-install the drivers.

Simpler way to check activation. Start All Programs. Point to Accessories, system tools and click Activate Windows. If Windows is already activated you will get a message telling you so. If not I am assuming it will go to the online activation. Hope this helps.
