I have been trying to set up for a bit now. I have tried Bulletproof and am now trying Serv-U. My problem is every time I set it up and someone tries to connect they cant. On my serv U log it says its not listening to the IP and maybe its a non existant one. Ive checked my Ip made sure its the external one and even went to a site that gave ya your exact external IP. No luck so far. Iam running a small network running XP and ME going through a hub. My PC is the main and is hooked up to the dsl modem.
Anyone got any Ideas? Its driving me insane. Thanks

I'm also assuming you have two ethernet cards installed in the host machine, and one is connected directly to the modem.
the other should go to the hub, with the client machine also going to the hub.(just like the connection sharing wiz showed you).
The XP Firewall will stop traffic.
open "My Network Places"
right click on the primary connection (should be named something like "LOCAL AREA CONNECTION") and click on "properties"click the "Advanced" tab
uncheck "protect my computer"MAKE SURE THE SERVICE IS INSTALLED AND STARTED!!
fire away with Internet Explorermake sure to put the Firewall back up when your session's over
