Ok, the problem is that I traded a guy for a laptop (HP/Compaq NC4000 Business Laptop) and I think he put in a pirated copy of WinXP.
One day, it just said that it had a problem and needed the original XP disk to try to solve it.
I didnt have it, so, i figured I would install Win2k that I havent used.
So, I Formatted the disk, and began install.
It wont go past bootup.
I tried several times, now it wont recognize the HD.
Is this the "Windows Virus" they say windows activates if it thinks you're pirating?

I don't know about a Windows virus. If Win2000 drivers for all the hardware in the Laptop are available you should be able to install 2000. You would need to get those drivers ahead of time.

Exactly what happens when you try booting to the Win200 CD?
