i tried to install win98 on my computer in a diffrernt partitin.
Note: the "primary" os is winxp, ge force 4ti4200.Problems:
in win98 i can't shutdown the computer ,many times stuck ,and the only boton which has effect is RESET. Some programs or games refuse to work. All the drivers work fine, and the device manager too. The surprising thing is that the winxp work extremely good!!!

If you are using ONLY Microsoft XP and 98 with NO other 'multi boot' loader, then you must first install 98.
When you then go to install XP choose to install as DUAL BOOT and in a SEPARATE partition or Hard isk Drive [HDD].
Best thing is to reformat the HDD [if it is a single partition], and if not FDISK and delete the extended partition and set it back to a single partition. Make sure it is FAT32.
Then install 98.
WHen you install XP you can create a new partition and have it format as NTFS.
If doing it this way, you will need to separately install all the applications you want to run in 98 and same for XP [ if you want one or more to be used in both 98 and XP it / they need to be installed in each one].
Gets kinda complicated!

Dude, check out this site http//fdisk.radified.com/fdisk
The only other thing you need to know is you must install w98 on the 1st active partition and install xp on a logical drive in the extended partition. Must use fat32, and install drivers on both op. systems.
