Problems after getting rid of virus...

Microsoft Windows xp home edition

Specs: Windows XP Home
My laptop was recently infected with the "Antivirus Live" virus which supposedly can screw up your internet settings. Before this point I had never gotten a virus on my computer... I googled the virus and downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, which supposedly gets rid of the virus. After doing so, it seemed to find and delete the virus and I no longer got error messages, so I assumed it was gone...
But now whenever I use the internet (I use the most recent version of Firefox) it freezes and I have to restart the computer. I have Internet Explorer, which works a little longer but still eventually freezes and crashes. I ran a virus scan with AVG and again with the Malware detector but neither of them picked up anything. Is this still the virus or is something wrong with my internet settings because of the virus? Thanks in advance for your help.

The "Security and Virus" forum is here:

Please download and run Eset Online Scanner:
Run a full scan and remove all found malwares

Note: You can use "Safe Mode With Networking" by pressing the "F8" key before Windows loads, to run this online scan

Sorry about the misplacement... Is there a way to delete or move my message? The forum won't let me post it twice.

"Is there a way to delete or move my message?"

Nope, at least not by you. Try rewording the question & retitle it, then you will be able to post it in the proper forum.
