Problem with XP obtain IP address

Hello, I have a problem....I cannot obtain IP address in XP...I can see the local network but jsut can't get an ip adress anyone know why? and how to fix it? Well the problem is when I click on the repair button it won't allow me to renew or obtain an IP address...don't know why but I still have local network

If you can see the other machines on the network, then you have an IP address. What makes you think you don't have one? Does ipconfig show all zeros?
