Problem with WMP 9 codecs.

I recently had to format my hd. After reinstalling WMP 9 and all files from Windows update, WMP 9 won't play an .avi video that I have played many times in the past. However the sound is fine. I have tried downloading the codecs from http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/format/codecdownload.aspx and also enabling "Download Codecs Automatically" within the player but it still only plays the sound. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Gary
