my icons on my desktop are scattered i tried folder options reset and apply nothing when iam tring to change in a folder to tiles its ok but icones create spaces b555

This is what Windows HELP says -- Tiles view displays your files and folders as icons. The icons are larger than those in Icon view, and the sort information you select is displayed under the file or folder name. For example, if you sort your files by type, "Microsoft Word document" appears under the file name for a Microsoft Word document. ------------------- Maybe you are using Reset and Apply improperly. In Windows Explorer or Control Panel, click Tools in the Menu bar, click Folder Options, click View tab, in Advanced Settings list, find and check mark "Remember each folder's view settings". After doing the above, and it does not work good enough, then: After setting a folder to what you want, go to the View tab in Folder Options, and click the "Apply to all folders" button. -------------------- As for the Desktop, can you move the Icons to where you want them placed ??

If you are just trying to unscatter your desktop icons, then right click on the desktop and click on "arrange icons by" and choose how you want your icons arranged.

b555 Right click on Desktop - Arrange Icons By Uncheck everything except 'Show Desktop Icons' Now you should be able to Drag your Icons with Left Mouse Button and arrange them however you want them
