Problem with turning off the comp

CPU/Ram: P3, 256MB
Product: Toshiba/Satellite 1805-S2

I have problem with turning off or restarting the computer.
As I go to start meniu, turn off computer and click on turn off, computer would not shut off. It only goes for stand by/
Any suggestions?

rt click the desktop screen - properties -screensaver - power management - Standby tab - uncheck the tick

I can not find power management under screensaver.

Well, then try to go to:

Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
Double-click Power Options. -OR-
Double-click "Performance and Maintenance", and then click Power Options.
On the Power Schemes tab, set the following two options as shown:

- Set "System standby" to Never.
- Set "System hibernates" to Never.
