ok i got windows xp Porfessional
and whenever i want to use my gamepad
in a game then the game gets a makor delay and i cant use the gamepad untill i turn it of
is there any way i can update this driver since this one is for all micrsoft sidewinderssince its called sidewinder autodetect
Please Help thanks

I've Sidewinder Force Feedback Pro I use with FS2000. Well, I can't use it under XP, because Microsoft has not yet any XP driver for it on his download center ! Maybe one day... Have faith in Big Brother !

Sucks that microsoft doesn't support their own products. I think it's a ploy to get us to buy x-box. But my computer can outpower it. Also all I want to do is play podracer on xp, it works but not my Force Feedback Pro or even my Sidewinder Gamepad.

I Have the same problem with
FIFA 2002
WTA Tennis
Potracer
And lots of other game
Billie stuff sucks
i went to the store where i bought it and they wouldn't take it back because it works in win98 ( cheap b---tards ) anyway i hope the drivers will be there soon

same problem with XP home edition and sidewinder force feedback 1 non-usb original drivers aren't working

I´ve got the same problems with Sidewinder 3d Pro it works perfectly in most games but it doesn´t work in Fifa 2002.
If anyone knows what to do please let me know.

Same problems with "Sidewinder Game pad"
Shame on microsoft and its s--- products....
There is no driver and I'm begening to ***** my computer.

Same proble with my SWFF Wheel. Funny thing is that MSN Eshop shows ALL the sidewinder gaming devices under WindowsXP Compatible Gaming Hardware! I just requested they remove 'em cause it ain't true. What a SCAM!

Actually, they will work.
Go to Control Panel and pick "printer and other hardware", then "game controllers". Click on "Add", then "Microsoft SideWinder (AutoDetect)". This seems to work and should even find the gameport based wheels.
Mine didn't autodetect my wheel, but did work when I did this. No thanks on the complete lack of documentation on this by MS though.
Good Luck!
Dan

I have the same problem with my Sidwinder Gamepad. The ControlPanel autodetect it, but after that I see the Bluescreen and have to turn off the PC! Microsoft have to hurry up with an working XP driver because this is a cheek.

i have the ms gamepad(black one) that supports daisy chian, it connects to the back of my sound card, that one works after autodecting, and i also the silver pro one(sucks) that connects usb, the silver one is not detected, any ideas?

**** People , my oldschool SideWinder gamepad now works in Windows XP Professional ****
I have 2 serial slots for it, one on the MOBO, and one on the soundcard.
My soundcard is a Maxi Sound Muse by Guillemot.
I connected it to that serial device on the soundcard, not the one on the mobo. I then went to Game controllers in control panel, and added the microsoft auto detect one, after making sure its connected securely.
And it does fine in properties testing the controller direction pad out, andthe buttons......
*NOTE* however, all the buttons work except the "MODE" button on the top. When I press that button, some error happens and it says the controller isn't connect.........I am able to use the controller ONLY if that button is never pressed. hope this helps u all
