When i defrag my system and i restart the computer it does not reboot and i have to go to safe mode and do a system restore to get the computer to start up and then it is fine.I have heard that some people have had a problem with windows defrag program and was wondering what could be causing this problem and if there is a better defrag program than the windows version.Thanx in advance

Suggestion: Go to the Run box, and run this:
fsutil dirty set C:

Then reboot.

If that desn't help, well, I'd make sure my backups were up-to-date.

wiked_wrathchyld, you might try Auslogics Disk Defrag. I've been using it for some time and like the way it works.

It's a bit quicker than the defrag utility which comes with XP and, the best part, it's free. :)
