I loaded Tuesday's latest patches from MS and immediately had an issue after rebooting. The browser would no longer connect to any web site. Every page timed out. My internet connection was working because I could access it with another computer and I know that the wireless connection was working because from that other computer, I could see the shared folder. Fortunately, the patches could be uninstalled which is what I did. After reboot, my connection was back to normal.
Has anyone else experienced this problem with this latest set of patches?

Yep this problem was here on CN a few days ago. The people who had the problem fixed it by uninstalling the patch. If I remember right it may have had something to do with a conflict between ZoneAlarm and the patch.

sizzzzlerz, Many who have Zone Alarm installed are having problems with the KB951748 'security update'. Check out the threads at the links below.

Here's the thread from the other day where someone had this problem:

Here's the fix from ZA:

ZoneAlarm has now issued a patch update for their product so the workaround is no longer necessary. Problem is that unless people know to update ZA before they run the Windows update they're cut off from internet. I was fortunate enough to read here about the situation and I don't allow automatic updating. Have received the ZA patch but am yet to do this week's windows update. Will see in a few minutes if the ZA patch worked.
(edit) I guess the patch worked. All updates went without a hitch.

Thanks to y'all. You help put me on the right path and my problem is now resolved. It was the ZoneAlarm issue.
