I used to do fine with a 56k and go at a constant 5k per sec. But ever since April, my modem has gone a lil wacky. First of all, my connections would just die and it'd seem to freeze my dial up networking. I try pressing disconnect so I can reconnect but the DUN just freeze for a really long time. However, sometimes it recovers and my internet resumes. Another problem is that after using the connection for awhile, my speed gets capped at 3k per sec which really really sucks. I have to reconnect for the speed to go back up to 5k again but it only lasts for about 15 minutes. One thing I notice is that if I click on the DUP status (the lil computer in the systray) under received and errors I get a heck of a lot of them. Especially after freezes. On long sessions sometimes I get a few hundred errors. Theres like nothing to see what these errors are or anything... if anyone knows about these errors please help me :P As a last ditch thing, I wanna know how to reinstall DUN and see if I still encounter these probs. If still not, I'm thinking of reinstalling XP Pro. My connection used to be fine but now it sucks really bad. Thanks for any help.
