hi
i a toshiba computer that has files that i need to back up. it freezes after about 2 minutes of being turned on, and i can't continue from there, so backing up directly to another harddrive or usb stick isn't an option (there are 2gb of files i need to backup).
i tried it in safe mode, and i still have the same problem.
the folder (my documents) is also encrypted, and i cannot copy those files directly off of the harddrive to another computer.
is there ANY way that i can copy files from an encrypted folder (or maybe the entire folder itself)
i really need the files. please help!!!
Toshiba M50-MX2:
Celeron M 1.5GHZ 1MB L2
512 DDR2 PC4200 RAM
60GB 5400RPM HDD
DVD+/-RW CDRW DVD-RAM

What you should be doing is trying to find out why your computer is freezing. If you can solve that then you will have no problems getting at your files. Here are two links that might be of assistance to you.
one and
two.

As a last resort you could remove the hard drive and connect it as a slave to another PC to recover your files. If it's a laptop you will need an inexpensive adapter.
