Specs: Windows XP, 250 hd and 2 gig ram
First I do not show any secondary ide channel. in my device manager my dma is set to run if available, it says current transfer rate is not available. I am only having problems with one program I get a read/write error. Every thing else works fine. I had no problem until I had to reload my os. My laptop shows a secondary IDE channel, with only one dvd drive. my desktop has two dvd roms, they both work well other then the one program

You need to post your system specs. If you have a newer system that supports SATA, there probably is no secondary IDE channel.
