To make a long story short, I right clicked my desktop and went to properties. After that I clicked on the appearances tab and then I clicked the advanced button. Here is where the trouble began...I selected a color and didn't realize that it would affect my icons also. So now I have a color (blue) underneath my desktop picture but what is bad is that my icons are now the shade of blue, or any other color that is chosen. Is there a way to turn off the color and have my icons back to normal? I greatly appreciate anyone's help. THX in advance!

Are the icons blue, or is the text under the icons blue? Go back into Properties in your Display, Appearance, and Select The Scheme you want... Or, just click on Item, and select whatever you want to change, then change the color of that particular item.

Jennifer, the words under the icon are in blue. For example, "My computer" is boxed in blue. The setting that I was changing under the advanced appearance setting was "desktop" and I clicked on the color button. So now behind my desktop picture (and if I were not to have a desktop picture) is blue and so are the words under the icons. I still can't get it to change. If you have any other info I would greatly appreciate it.

Also, Chuck2, thank you for the link. I am currently reading it and thus far it tells you how to change but now how to revert back to original settings.

THANK YOU all for trying to help me. I greatly appreciate it~
