Hello and thanks for reading...

I have this program that I use for transfering files into my satalite dish's cable box, I use a Serial Cable that goes from my computers com1 port to the Satalite Cable Boxs port... This time I dont know why but it sais "Cant open serial port access denied" Usually it would download the files into the Satalite Cable Box that I have and you would see a % and it would just download it normally...

This time I get Cant open serial port access denied...I tried closing ALLLL FIREWALLS and still get the same thing... Anyone have any clue ? Thanks

Enter the bios setup routine. Check in the Peripherals section to make sure serial port 1 is enabled. It might be under 'Super IO Device'.

The Bios 'setup' routine is used to set/change the bios settings. When booting up the system, one of the first screens should have a line that says something like 'Press the delete key (or f10,F2, etc) to enter the 'Setup' routine. You have to hit the appropriate key at that time. If you miss it, you will have to reboot and try again.
Once you get the 'setup' screen, find the 'peripherals' section. Click on it to open it up. Look for serial port #1, if you don't see it, it might be under 'Super IO device.
Bios' are not all the same, so you might have to do some digging to find it. The fact is, some bios' may not even have the option.
