carrieyeo: a few ideas;
1. when trying to install a program from a CD, the program may fail to install and you may receive an AUTORUN.exe error.
cause: corrupt AUTORUN.exe file
the AUTORUN.exe file may be corrupted or not linked correctly to the SETUP.exe file.resolution: run setup file from the desktop.
to run the SETUP.exe file from the desktop:
make sure the program CD is in the CD-ROM.
right-click on the Start button, and then click Explore.
click on the CD-ROM drive.
right-click on the SETUP.exe file, and then click Copy.
close the Windows Explorer window.
right-click on the desktop, and then click Paste.
double-click on the SETUP.exe file.
follow the installation setup instructions.2. Microsoft has another approach at:
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=153981
which says: delete or rename the Autorun.inf file in the root folder of the affected drive.
let us know what worked for you...
