August 26, 2010 at 23:25:51
Specs: Linux i686
I have 2 os on my pc. One is ubuntu and the other is windows xp .
Since my windows is failing to boot i tried repairing it . But when the pc reboots during repair it asks me to choose between the 2 os . And when i choose xp the same problem reappears giving me a blank screen with no further progress.
Please suggest me a solution to effectively repair my windows because i dont want to format my C drive again.

Usual questions first...

Make/model of kit involved; and do you have an XP setup disk (full version) or what?

Which OS went in first?

Drive partitiong as is - and what is where on the HD...?

just to clarify: 2 partitions on the drive...?

d = XP and d: = ubuntu;

or is it

c = ubuntu and d: = XP?

And how are you setting about repairing XP?

This site has a very comprehensive and clear set of how to go about it instructions...
