i had to re-install windows XP onto my computer, but when i got to the setup screen "What's Your Computer's Name?" i filled that out, but when i click next it just hangs there and doesnt do anything. it does the same if i try to click skip. i can still move the mouse, and click the help button, but it won't go any further. i really need help fixing this problem.

What were the symptoms of your computer that made you feel you had to re-install XP? Sometimes there is nothing actually wrong with Windows - it is reacting to something else, such as a failing hard drive or a failing PS, and that is what is causing your problems.
If you feel there is nothing wrong with the computer physically, Windows has a built in setup recovery feature that MIGHT work. After you get to the point where the Setup hangs, wait several minutes after the last time the hard drive activity led lights up, press your Reset button, orv press the Alt-Ctrl-Del keys at the same time (you may have to do that twicwe), or if that doesn't work or you don't have a Reset button, hold your power button in until the computer shuts down and start up the computer again (that depends on settings in your bios but most bioses are set to do that by default). Don't remove the power to the computer to shut it off!
In either case, DO NOT boot the XP CD while booting - Setup may continue where it left off.If that doesn't work, try cleaning your CD, and cleaning the drive's laser lens with a lens cleaner cd, or if you have two CD drives, try booting the XP CD in the other drive - a scratched or dirty CD, or a dirty laser lens, or a defective or well used CD drive can cause reading problems.

I have the same issue

I've tried everything - no fix yet.
ctrl-alt-del doesn't do anything - power off just brings setup up again.
