In Windows XP HELP, click Index, then type:

Below that double click "List of Troubleshooters"
Try some of those. They ask you a series of
questions, and give solutions along the way.Try the "Startup/Shutdown" one.

Hi
after you install the drivers on your machine maybe some system files are corrupt and for that your computer hang during shut down the system
try this :
you should insert the Windows XP CD into the CD-ROM and start repairing your windows on Recovery Console,
then when you start to repair windows from dhe CD,
write this commands at promptfirst you will ask which windows you want to repair and you should choice that demaged windows and then type
chkdsk /p /r
be patient becous it takes some time during repairing your system and then type
exit
to exit from Recovery Console
eject the CD from CD-ROM during your machine is restart end start your windows then try to shut down the llaptopi hope to be a helpfull to you this solution
and sorry for my English ^_^
Best Regards
