Problem Loading XP on Dell

I have a problem loading XP on my Dell Dimension 8200. The installation seems to go well untill the install has 33 minutes left. I get a black screen and all activity stops. After 4 attemps it finally loaded but when loading software the PC would shut down and re-start. Thinking there might be a problem with the disc, which includes SP2, I tried it on a friends Dell 4300 and get the same problem. Can anyone help? Regards, Graham.

Try removing any external devices that are attatched to the Comp and dissable integrated devices like Audio, Network and USB Emulation in BIOS (its in Integrated Devices in the BIOS) and also change the boot sequence from the Bios rather than using F12 to boot from CD and then try reinstallation of XP, it should pass the 33 mins remaining... It should work...
