Well I resently got a virus/spyware on my computer that can't be removed called roings. I've looked all over here to find a solution and I haven't found one yet. but i can tell that it infected my computer, When i open links at cewrtain sites it takes me to www.errorplace.com can also see the lagg in my online gaming(I have the best cable that comcast offers) Also on aol instant messager it freezes frequently aswell on my online game i play (socom two) i see alot of lagg.
Now back to the reason im posting this. When i got to install somethnig, such as installing my mic(or my gaming controler). I would plug it in and the automatic install stuff(found new hardware) comes up and starts installing it, but it jsut sits there for alon time and does nothing. i eventually stop it. Alos an error would come up saying this "The software you are isntalling for this hardware:
USB Composite deviceHas not been passed windows logo testing to verify its compadtibility with windows XP
*Bold* Continuing your isntallation of this software may impair or destablize the correct operation of your system either immediatly or in the futer. Microsoft tronly recommends that yiu stop this installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed windos logo testing...conintue anyways or stop installation. after that it jsut sits there. it does this with other installations aswell. plase help me
thanks, Mark

Dont worry about the warning bit, this happens on alot of driver isntallations where the driver has not been sent to MS for certification.
Many manufacturers dont do this as a rule, but it does not mean the driver wil not work.
Lust click on continue, to isntall what you need.
As for the bug !! do a manual search on the nasty you have and I suspect you will find him in the sys32 fiolder.
When you have found him, shut down the system restore, boot into safe mode and delete the bugs exe file manualy.
Other wise the latest version of Addaware should be able to find and delete the bug.
Hope thats some help to you.

From what you said I suspect the thing may have found its way into the system retsore and is preventing you from using it.
And the chnaces are it may very well imbeded itself into the restore folder and just may come back any way.
I hate to say it but you may be forced to reach for the CD and start from scratch, sometimes this is the best thing to do.
