Problem installing XP Home from DVD I created

Hewlett-packard / 521n

Specs: Windows XP
I Reinstalled Windows XP Home Edition On My HP Pavilion 521n Desktop. After Its Done Bootin From The DVD I Made The Computer Restarts To Continue The Installation Process But All It Does Is Go To A Black Screen With A Dash - Blinkin On The Top Left Of The Screen. I Know The DVD I Made Works Because I Used It On Another Computer And It Works Fine. I Even Made A Whole New CD Wit A New ISO File And I Did The Same.

First I Enter The BIOS Menu And Make It So It Will Boot From The CD Then After The Installation Finishes It Reboots The Computer And I Got To The BIOS Menu Again And Set Everything To Default. When The Computer Starts Up It Just Shows A Black Screen Wit A Blinkin Dash Line On The Top Left.

Can Anyone Help Me Out Please!!!

...From The DVD I Made

Windows XP boxes does not natively support DVD discs. I guess this is why Windows installer does not see it. You need to recreate the DVD on a CD instead.

flashing cursor means no master boot record.

Is this also a hp system? If not then most likely you have the wrong disk controller driver.

BTW they call what you are doing pirating from what you describe.

Don't capitalize the 1st letter of every word. It's not cool or cute, it's stupid. And so is the lack of the the letter G at the end of the "ING words" & your use of the word, "wit". If you're from the ghetto, I apologize

People that capitalize every first letter of every word is doing so for what ?

The Problem Has Been Fixed. Thanks For Helpin Me Out.

All I Needed To Do Is Change The Boot Order From The BIOS Menu. It Had The Floppy Drive As Numba 1. I Just Switched It To Numba 4 And I Was Able To Continue The Installation.

Thanks Again For All Your Help
