I'm tried to install Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0 and I got this error message:
"Error 25013. Failed to install assembly C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\System.Design.dll because strong name signature could not be verified. Was the assembly built delay-signed?"

What sort of gobbly gook is that? How is your average guy to know if the 'assembly was delay-signed'?

I'm trying to install Microsoft's free accounting program offered lately but I need .NET framework. Should I forget about v 2.0 and download v 3?

For customers that already have the .NET Framework 2.0 installed, this .NET Framework 3.0 redistributable package installs only the new Windows Vista components. This ensures that any .NET Framework 2.0-based applications work seamlessly when the .NET Framework 3.0 is installed, with no application migration or updates of any kind required.

Thanks, guys/gals(?) for your replies. Frankly, I think Microsoft should clean up the .NET Framework problems before getting serious in giving out a 'free' copy of their accounting program. I am going to tell them so.

Thanks again, but this is entirely too much work for the benefit promised.
