When I Try to install Windows XP (Final 2600), I get the message:"Line 1 of hivesys.inf is corrupted.". The file hivesys.inf seems to be ok.

Well if it says its corrupt and it can't use it then its not OK now is it? How do you define the file as ok? That you can open it? Remember, you're not doing the installation work here, the computer is.

I had the same problem, using two different cds. I ended up trying a different cdrom ,even though the one i was using worked fine with all other cds, and it worked. it installed fine with no problems. So if you got an extra cd rom drive laying around, i suggest you try it.
