I have windows Xp in my pc. But daily i noticed one problem dat large amount of space has been reduced automatically. My pc is free of virus n threats n my Anti-virus software is daily update on daily-basis. I also delete my temporary internet files daily with system clean option. Then plz tell me where my space has been going.????

Possibly the space is being "mis-reported" by Windows. You can try running Chkdsk:
• Double-click My Computer
• Right-click a hard drive (C drive, for example)
• Select Properties from the Pop Up Menu
• Go to the Tools Tab
• Click on the Check Now button
• Choose Automatically Fix File System ErrorsWindows will more than likely ask you to reboot the computer.

... [press]win(flag) key+pause
... [click] "system restore"
... moving slider "left" reduces size.
... purchase larger h/drive ??

I've checked my system restore settings , all my drives including C drive is set on Max......so tell me wht i do next?

depending on how many programs you have installed on your computer. You might on to go to my computer right click on the drive and see how much space is being taken up, and then open up the drive for the list of drive contents, and then right click on each folder and see how much documents and users space is being used. Then go through there and see if there are any large files taking up alot of space.

"... so tell me wht i do next?..."
"... moving slider "left" reduces size..."
so if you move the slider left by sticking yer mouse onto it holding in mouse button this will reduce the amount of space used by system restore.
"sorry got brain freeze"

System restore takes up alot of space man, having it on max would do this.
One other thing you could do is,
Right click on my computer where System Properties will pop up. click on System restore tab!
Here it's simple all you have to do is Turn off System restore on all drives. Once that's completed, all restore points will be deleted from HD memory.
Now make sure you turn it back on after performing this task, you might need it later in the future. I'm just sorry Windows 95 didn't have this!
You can also click on settings, here to you can chosse HD space System restore gets to use. Positioning it in the middle should do nicely.
How big is your HD?
How much RAM dose the computer run on?One other reason your HD might be filling up, whenever Windows runs low on RAM it goes to the HD memory for support.
I hope some of this help's.
Jon
