Now I have found the file but i cannot delete it due to the fact is is running in task manager and i cant get task manager to close it even when i right click and hit end process. Also there is the same thing with 2 other files called whagent and whsurvey in a folder called webhancer. Oh, and one last thing, these virus' have made it so when i try to open macafee virus scan it freezes. Thank you for reading this and for any help in advance!!

Download NOD32 30 day trial.
Close McAffee & Install NOD32

OssProxy.exe

(Netsetter / Marketscore)

Software which gets installed on your PC when you install the Internet Acceleration software from Marketscore (previously Netsetter). Note that you may have installed Marketscore unwittingly while installing other software.

Recommendation :
There are doubts as to whether this Internet acceleration really works – in our opinion, if you have a DSL/ADSL or Cable Modem connection, then you do not need this type of service. Most importantly, read your Marketscore License Agreement – if you do not like what you read in it, de-install the service and software. To remove in Windows 9x/ME, do "Start \ Run" and type "C:\Windows\System\NSCheck /uninstall". To remove in Windows NT4/2000/XP/2003 do "Start \ Run" and type NSCheck /uninstall.

Damien,

Give Spybot Search and Destroy a try (I recommend this to everyone along with Adaware and SpywareBlaster... they're all free). The latest release of Spybot reportedly finds and gets rid of ossproxy.exe:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

The following page also has more detailed information on removing ossproxy:

Good luck.

tasklist.org - A comprehensive list of processes running in your computer
Filename: OSSPROXY.exe
Name: OSSProxy
Description: Part of Nettsetter - a "market research" program intended to track your Internet usage
and buying habits. To remove click on Start -> Run and enter "%WinDir%\SYSTEM\NSCheck.exe
/uninstall" (where %windir% is the Windows directory - C:\Windows or C:\Winnt) followed by enter -
this removes all registry entries and a box appears saying "uninstall successful. Find and delete the files
nscheck.exe, ossproxy.exe.rvt & ossproxy.exe
Recommendation: Definitely not required - typically viruses, spyware, adware and "resource hogs"
Back to OSSPROXY.exe
