When I try to delete trash and junk from my hotmail account I get a yellow box saying "An error has occured. Click here to resolve the issue" So I click here and I get "Are you sure you want to perm delete all emails in this folder" I click OK and the trash/junk is still there with the error message?

What browser are you using? Is Active X enabled?

If you are using the webbased version of hotmail it won't allow you to empty the junk or trash.
Mine is interfaced with outlook express and i can delete those items thru outlook express.
It won't allow me to empty the trash if only one item is there. I found I had to have two or more in the trash to delete them.
Hotmail is setup to do this maintenance automatically. No need to fret over not being able to do it yourself. The items it the above named folders do not count against your space allowance.
