problem copying big folders with subfolders

Specs: Windows XP, Intel Pentium 4, 2.6ghz 2gb
trying to copy big folder which contains a lots of subfolders. Some of them after coping are empty. Why . ?

... which method are you using to copy and "to where" are you copying to?

... ie. right click (folder) option "copy"... right click (destination) option "paste"

I use to copy in normal way , it means : right click on folder , left copy. right click on folder which is destination ( in that case on memory stick ( 16 GB) and : paste. It use to copy ex: 6 gb out of 9.5 . The rest of folders and data in them is missing. It copy only names of folders but many of them are empty .

Files are not biger but some subfolders are 5 and 6 gb size. But those are subfolders in other subfolders. Mostly empty subfolders are with photos. Strange but sometimes I can see icons of those photos but can't open them

Yes I did. In folder options is Show hidden files and folders with check mark.
It' strange , I can see piucture in thumbnails view but when I click on photo it doesn't open
