Would anyone be able to help me with the following problme......

I have got my XP up and running, however, after sometime and some updates and reinstallation of some problems, XP disabled the subject driver (CDRALW2K.SYS) which resulted in my computer not being able to burn CDs using the XP default burning function. Does anyone have any solution to the problem I have encountered?

just a note, I'm using Sony PCG-GR250 which came with XP OS and if anyone who knows the original configuration, please let me know... so that I can re-config my computer's configuration.

Many thanks!

Hi there,

my computer had the same problem, but I solve this drv mystery.
I think every important work can Clone CD 4 do for you.
You only need to uninstall CD-ROM-s in Comp management, rename or delete files
cdr4_2k.sys & cdralw2k.sys and then reboot. After reboot Clone CD will show two messages
which asking you to remove missing links pointing to these files in registry. Click YES and
reboot and no error message will show! Thanks to Elby to give us Clone CD!!!!!
.... and enjoy XP
