Gateway 831gm desktop
June 18, 2010 at 12:42:26
Specs: Windows XP
My Gateway desktop locksup intermittenly and after being in dormant state. Works fine at times but can lockup after you click on something on the screen. The lock light comes on the keyboard at these times.. If you push the main button it shuts right off. Like its been shut down already from the software. At these times nothing works the screen is black. It always does this after being left dormant for a long time.

'If you push the main button'
Are you talking about the power switch on the front of your tower?

Are you using sleep mode on your PC?

I would suggest turning off hibernation, it is basically a feature to be used in laptops.
