So, here's the thing: I killed my pc...literally cause I used killdisk, i selected C: and pressed KILL. After I did that I ran fdisk from a floppy disk which ran without a glitch, and restarted the computer (hoping to format it and eventually reinstall the OS). BUT here's the thing, after restarting I got this message: "Can't find any System files. Insert a boot diskette in A: then press Ctrl/alt/del".

I've tried putting in the win boot floppy but I get the same message, I've put in every single floppy that I have and still nothing...Did I reall kill my pc, or is it just a coma? Can anyone help wake it up????

Run FDisk again and make sure you set the first partition ACTIVE. Read the following article:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/255867

FYI: When you used Killdisk, you didn't only wipe out drive c; you killed everything that was on the HD - all partitions along with your data. You should have known that Killdisk writes ZERO to the HD as a whole.

no need to FDISK anything if you want to install a windows nt based operating system, it's a relic from msdos/win9x.

run killdisk again then boot from your XP cdrom and create one or more new partitions from the now unallocated disk space.

Your problem is that you evidently don't understand what a partition is. Your single harddrive was evidently partioned into at least two partitions. This just means you divided the space. It is still one physical drive. Killdisk can't wipe just part of a harrdrive. Your files are gone.

If you can not boot from the floppy or XP cd, go into bios setup and make sure that the floppy/cd is listed before the hard drive in Boot Options, save and exit.

"I got this message: "Can't find any System files. Insert a boot diskette in A: then press Ctrl/alt/del"."

it would appear you did not create and test a boot floppy. You need to go to a friends machine, make a boot floppy and test it to make sure it boots.

BTW you can partition but until you format with system files the first primary partition is not bootable. Hence your system files missing message.

Imagine the power if you knew how to internet search

Fdisk is basically a tool left over from DOS and W95/98 days...not commonly used in XP...

I suggest this...

Do NOT put any floppy disks in the floppy drive...

Put your XP CD in the CD drive, and start the comptuer up...because BIOS cannot find a bootable HD it should default to booting off the CD drive with your XP CD in it...

You should get a blue screen with a gray bar at the bottom, it is starting to boot off the XP CD...follow the prompts and you will eventually re-install XP...

What you did with FDISK wipped out the entire hard drive...you will have no data left, and you are left with re-installing Windows XP...

Good luck
