Hi:) I have recently purchased an external "Backpack" dvd player along with a seperately purchased new usb 2.0 PCI card. The problem that I'm having is with the particular driver of the "Backpack" dvd player. The driver is not supported under Windows XP, totally obliterates the functioning of my Hp DesKjet 832C printer due to the insistance of a LPT1 parallel port even though it's connected to a USB and if I try to overide the driver allowing Windows XP to automatically install it's own driver, it doesn't seem to recognize the external "E" drive.... H E L P !!!! I've been to Windows update, Service pack 1, HP Update, Backpack update, Compaq USB 2.0 Card driver update -- no info found, etc. etc. What I need is a "generic" overriding driver to recognize my external dvd drive until "Backpack" gets their act together!!! Any info would be helpful to me at this point. Thanks! Anne
