Can i upgrade my Win XP Pro SP1 to Win XP Home SP2?
I never tried it now, coz am afraid something will be corrupted in my files,..

AFAIK you cannot "upgrade" [won't it be really a down grade :-)] WinXP Pro to Win XP Home
If you try, I guess, you will get a warning message something like "you have a version that is higher than the version you are going to install etc.."

I have to shift from SP1 pro to SP2 home...after i inserted the home SP2 cd, the installation guide pop up and did not alert me that i have a newer verion, so does that mean i can upgrade it to SP2 home?

I do not know about if Home will overwrite Pro, but you could install Home into a "new folder" as stated in this-> HOW TO: Install Windows XP

I agree you could install it to a different Folder creating a Dual Boot system, unless JC wants the proof of the pudding..:-) M

First you need to do a complete ntbackup of your system and check it. Then do a fresh install.

Summary: Why install XP and then install sp2? Why not do a slipdisk? Copy all files off of the XP cd into a directory of it's own. Then go to run and browse to the sp2.exe and then put /integrate:path behind...
