Hey guys,

Been a while since I posted a problem here, but it's the first time I've come across this one:

I'm working in a Mac office (hurl). A couple people in Research NEED to have SPSS and thus NEED to be working on a PC. They also need access to the color printer on the Mac network, but can't see it. How do they use that printer?

I'm new to Macs myself, but I life of PC-use helps. I know the printer is using appletalk, but I don't know much beyond that.

Any help would be great... or even a pointing in the right direction.

That's a point in the right direction, to be sure.

I've been exploring 3rd party applications like MAC Lan as options but, before I do that, I'd like to know if such actions are only possible with software help or if the software would just complete tasks for lasy users (like cookie deleters, and the like).

Maybe use a Print Server on a TCP/IP network ??

Yes, just creating a print server would be simple, but it's not my place and out of my means to do so.

Let me explain. I am not the network admin. I want to enable a couple of my colleagues, though, to use a networked/appletalk color laser printer (which they need when printing reports) because it's a hassle for them to send reports to me everytime they need to print in color.

I troubleshoot the PCs because often times the admin can't be bothered to do so. So I am looking for the right way to go about printing to an appletalk netoworked printer from an XP PC.
