Do not have Word. Do have Notepad & Wordpad. Have HP Deskjet 722C printer, which tests out OK. Driver uninstalled and replaced. Windows XP Home Edition uninstalled & replaced. Have installed WordPerfect (Corel) but can't print from it either. CAN print from Outlook Express and virtually all web pages. Still cannot print from Notepad nor Wordpad. Doesn't leave too many solution possibilites . Any brilliant ideas? Cashew

A little more detail would be good. What happens when you attempt to print from Notepad or Wordpad?

As for the Word Perfect, if the user attempting to print is not an Administrator, you'll have to make permission corrections and Registry Hacks in order for that user to print.

Life is more painless for those who are brainless.

Did you look at Page Setup or Print Preview (typically under the file menu)?

I like to use FinePrint to troubleshoot such situations. Install and see if you can print to it--FinePrint is like a virtual printer. (You can uninstall when finished if you want.)

Thank you JenniferSumn & gometro33 for your prompt responses. However, CyberSlug plucked off the gold ring with his suggestion to try FinePrint which brought up pdf factory 2.51 which inserts itself as an alternate 'printer' icon and replaces default status with notepad and wordpad. Could print from them both for the first time in 3 months. Have no idea how and/or why this worked; but at 83 I do not feel I have the spare time to find out! Thank you CyberSlug. Cashew
