When I open the printers dialog box all of the printers have disappeared and I am unable to add new printers or change properties of old ones. The printers are there however and are recognized by programs and work. Any suggestions

I found the fix. When updating the system, sometimes the \windows\system32\printui.dll file gets deleted or renamed to mprintui.dll, I am not sure which. However by finding the printui.dll file in the system32\backup directory and copying it to the system32 directory the problem was fixed. By the way this also applies to Win2000, in fact it was in a Win2000 forum that I found the answer.
