printer will only print to file

Hi. I have just bought a new printer. Lexmark Z617. I have installed it as per the instructions. However when I try to print to it it always says to print to file. The print to file box is unticked. I have llked at all the defaults but I can't see how to get it to default to printing to paper. any ideas please?
