I have 2 computers computer A and computer B. both of them have windows XP on them. my sister's computer is computer A, she had a tech support help her re-install windows. She SWEARS she never had to put in any type of password or anything. I am trying to get computer B(my computer) to use computer A's printer. HOWEVER, when computer B goes to connect to computer A. whether it be printer or shared files/drives. It requires a password (which no one ever entered or set up). I tried uninstalling and re-installing microsoft file and printer sharing, I tried making sure the file wall was not turned on. I'm at a total loss. can anyone help me without having to re-install windows AGAIN?

You have to create a username and password on computer A for Computer B to use.

On computer A Right click "My Computer" and select "manage"

Double click "Local users and groups" and then goto "users"

Right click on the right hand screen and select "New user" Choose a username and a password then click OK

Now use this username and password when trying to print.
