Specs: Windows XP
Hi everyone,
I recently got a HP officejet 5610 from a friend. I installed all the right software/drivers (also uninstalled and reinstalled multiple times to try and solve the problem). When I plug the printer in any USB port (they work for any other piece of hardware i use) I get the error message that the port is not recognised for all of them. The computer recognises the printer and it is listed without ? or !. The scanner works, but only via the configurations menu. I have found a lot of posts with similar problems for different products, but no solutions. Can anyone help me. thanks.

an alternative might be to try a usb pci card, they are quite inexpensive, and try that. See if that works

Some HELP in posting on Computing.net plus free progs and instructions Cheers
