printer driver / quick question...

Hello everyone! I just un-installed my Lexmark printer because I wanted to do a fresh install, due to my accidentally deleting some certain files from it this morning. My question is about the driver. Lexmark has an updated driver for this model printer. I am about to install the printer through the wizard when I put in the CD-Rom disk. But, isn't that going to install the old driver automatically? In other words, I want the newer driver, but since I'm going to do a fresh install, do I just let the wizard run the install completely? And after this is done, do I then go to the Lexmark site for the updated driver? Does the newer driver "overide" the old driver...so there is no conflict? I hope I worded this correctly, and I didn't confuse anyone. If I need to clarify, please let me know. Thanks very much.. ~Tommyo I hope I worded this correctly

forget the cd and download the new installer from lexmark. usually they dont just have the driver for you to download and install. what you want to do seems needlessly complicated.

Thanks catbert911...will do. I wasn't sure about the exact process, so I'll do it from the Lexmark site. Thanks again! ~Tommyo

By all means, download and install the manufacturer's (Lexmark) new driver. If it fails, you can always easily reinstall the original driver.

Very good here in New England! Just had the U.S. Women's Open Golf Championship here; practically in my backyard. I live very close to The Orchard's Golf Club. A very nice, scenic part of Massachusetts.
Didn't get to go to the beach yet, though. I seem to always get into trouble with girls in bikini's and thongs LOL!!!
